What to expect
Seeing a new health professional can feel daunting. Here's how your first appointment works.
Before you come
Bring your Medicare card, any referral or care plan, NDIS or package details, a list of your medications and any scans or reports.
During the appointment
Your therapist will ask about your health and goals, carry out a gentle assessment and explain what they find in plain language.
Your plan
Together you'll agree on a treatment plan, how often to come and exercises or strategies to use at home.
After your visit
With your consent, we send a summary to your GP or coordinator so everyone involved in your care is on the same page.
Bringing a family member, carer or support person is always welcome. Let us know if you need an interpreter.

Rapha Allied Health grew from thirty years of caring for people in hospitals, clinics and homes, and from a simple, stubborn belief that health care could be better.

Our journey

Experience that shaped us
Rapha was built on three decades of allied health experience across hospitals, primary care, orthopaedic and pain clinics, community and home-based care, and clinical teaching. That time showed us what works when care is skilled, timely and joined up, and what happens to people when it is not.
- The thirst
A thirst to make a difference
Experience alone was never enough. What drove Rapha was a thirst to make a real difference: to shorten waits, bring therapy to people who cannot easily travel, and make sure nobody falls between GP, hospital, NDIS and aged care services.
- The name
“Rapha” means to heal
The word rapha means “to heal” or “to restore”. It captures what we want for every client: not only treating a condition, but restoring confidence, independence and hope.

Taking care to people
From the start, Rapha was designed to be mobile. Too many people miss out on therapy because they cannot drive, are recovering from surgery, live with disability or care for someone at home. So our clinicians travel to them: to homes, schools, workplaces and aged care residences. We also work inside local medical centres alongside GPs, so care is joined up wherever a person is seen.

Cancellations
If you can't make it, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the time to someone else. Cancellation terms are in your service agreement.

Rapha Allied Health handles personal and health information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).
What we collect
Contact details, date of birth, emergency contacts, funding details (such as NDIS or Medicare information) and the health information needed to assess and treat you.
How we use it
To provide therapy, communicate with you and your treating team, send reports to referrers you have authorised, and bill funding bodies.
Who we share it with
Only with your consent, or where the law requires or permits it, for example your GP, plan manager, package provider or a funding body.
Storage and security
Records are kept in secure clinical systems with access limited to staff who need it, and retained for the periods required by Victorian law.

You can ask to see or correct your information at any time by emailing [email protected].
Complaints
Contact us first so we can resolve your concern. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the Victorian Health Complaints Commissioner.
